“Bao Dai Palace III” is a general term for the palaces and villas used by Emperor Bao Dai as workplaces, retreats, and residences for his family during his reign. There are a total of seven Bao Dai palaces scattered across Vietnam. Most of these palaces were built in the French architectural style.
Palace III is considered the most beautiful and elegant of Emperor Bao Dai’s residences. Situated on a hill covered with pristine pine trees at an altitude of 1539 meters, it is complemented by charming landscapes like An Ai Forest, Thuong Uyen Garden, and a small lake.
6. Langbiang Moutain
More than just sightseeing and recreational activities, a visit to Langbiang Mountain offers a chance to hear the captivating legend behind its name. The story goes that long ago, two different tribes lived at the foot of the mountain. Among these tribes were a girl named H’Biang from the Chil tribe and a boy named K’Lang from the Lat tribe.
K’Lang was a strong and brave hunter, while H’Biang was known for her beauty and kindness. They fell deeply in love, but their tribes were rivals and forbade their union. Despite the obstacles, they vowed to be together.
However, their love was met with opposition from both tribes. Fearing a conflict, H’Biang.

Every weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), Madame de Dalat, located within the Tran Le Xuan Villa complex (National Archives Center IV, 2 Yet Kieu Street, Dalat), presents “Madame Show,” a live performance directed by artist Trac Thuy Mieu and her team. This show aims to provide Dalat with a new tourism product at a heritage site in the heart of the city.
8. Dalat Cathedral (or “Chicken Church”)
This church, the oldest in Dalat, serves as the center of Catholic activity for the diocese and a pilgrimage site for Catholics across the country to gather and express their faith.
Architecture:
Built in the classic French architectural style by the French themselves, Dalat Cathedral (or “Chicken Church”) stands as a grand and elegant example of a classic French tower.
The rooster is a significant symbol of France, often referred to as the “Gallic Rooster.” Therefore, the rooster atop the cross represents a symbol of good fortune and honor bestowed by the French upon this land.
9. Dalat Railway Station
Dalat Railway Station is not only a remarkable architectural landmark in Dalat but also holds a special place in the history of Vietnam Railways.
The station was part of the Dalat–Phan Rang Thap Cham railway project, spanning approximately 87km. Approved by the Governor-General of Indochina, construction began in 1903. The Dalat station itself was built in 1932 and completed in 1936, making it the oldest remaining railway station in Vietnam.
10. Domaine de Marie Church
The name “Domaine de Marie” translates to “Domain of Mary” (or “Mary’s Domain”). The church is also known by other names, such as “Mai Anh Parish” due to the abundance of apricot blossom trees that once grew in the area, and “Vinh Son Church” because it serves as the chapel for the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul.
The church features several stylized design elements. Two staircases leading to the main entrance are paved with tiles. The most striking architectural feature is the triangular-shaped roof, with a cross mounted at its peak, and the distinctive arched windows on either side.
A unique aspect of this church’s construction is that it was built entirely without cement. Instead, natural materials like lime and molasses were used as binding agents. The walls were constructed with stones laid horizontally up to the window sills.
11. Linh Phuoc Pagoda (Broken Glass Pagoda)
Linh Phuoc Pagoda in Dalat is renowned for its unique mosaic decorations. The structures within the pagoda complex are adorned with fragments of pottery, porcelain, and glass bottles, giving it the nickname “Ve Chai Pagoda” (Broken Glass Pagoda).
This distinctive architectural feature attracts visitors from far and wide. The pagoda complex includes the main hall, a courtyard garden known as Hoa Long Vien, the Avalokiteshvara Hall, the stupa, the 18 levels of hell, and an antique exhibition area.
The main hall of the pagoda measures 33 meters long and 12 meters wide, featuring two rows of dragon pillars inlaid with porcelain. Above the pillars, you’ll find numerous porcelain mosaics depicting scenes from the life of Buddha and stories from Buddhist scriptures like the Amitabha Sutra and the Lotus Sutra.
12. “Cau Dat” Tea Hill
Cau Dat Tea Hill is a popular tourist attraction in Dalat, located about 23 km from the city center. Cau Dat Farm, with a history of over 100 years, spans an impressive 230 hectares at an altitude of 1650 meters
To experience cloud hunting at Cau Dat Tea Hill, you’ll need to wake up very early to prepare and travel to the location. The most stunning cloud formations typically appear between 5:30 and 6:00 AM. You’ll be treated to a magical scene of fluffy clouds drifting over the lush green tea fields, creating a picturesque landscape.
13. Crazy House (Hang Nga Villa)
At the end of the 20th century, nature was excessively exploited to serve human needs, and today we face the severe consequences of those actions.
To encourage a greater appreciation for nature and environmental protection, architect Dang Viet Nga began constructing her unique house in February 1990. It was designed to resemble the image of ancient tree trunks in a devastated old-growth forest.
However, within these rugged and bare tree trunks lie uniquely designed guest rooms, conveying the idea that nature remains close and ever-present in our lives.
